Who would have thought that you would be listening to this, right here,
right now. Amazing thing, technology. But what you hear now may be just a
mirage of misinformation and a barrage of bullshit. You may never know, for
as our great friend Juan M Sarabia used to say, you gotta go deep in
order to understand. Wide – and then deep. Or deep then wide. I always
forget. Anyway, Juan Sarabia is a Mexican who is from Monterrey. That’s his
city, and he’s proud. Remember, it’s his city. Not yours. Anyway, this
bench is to commemorate Juan and celebrate who he is. It’s his birthday afterall.
But just who is Juan? He came to Poland so long ago that no-one can
remember. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that he’s here with us
now. Juan is a postmodern polymath who gets boners over Bauman,
Baudrillard, Benjamin and Barthes. Juan is an urban poet, rhyming his way
through the kebab stands and the empty vodka glasses. A beast of Bohemia, the King of KFC and the baron of the bucket. That’ll be extra hot. Apart from
eating Juan also likes taking photographs. Of food. Of buildings. Of
abstract shapes. Of your mum. He is a visual virtuoso, a
philo-photographer.
If he gets pomo on your ass just go with the flow.
Remember, everything is a process. And there’s something to do with liquid
too. Yeah, that’s modern liquid or whatever, I prefer mine in a glass and
for it have 40% alcohol. If you see him within the confines of this bench,
strike up a conversation by asking him about how long a kiełbasa should be.
He might even buy you a beer. Besos Juan!
